Things To Look For In A Good Dentist
Understanding –
Sometimes a dentist will have been doing their job for so long that they are deep into the routine of their day and forget that some people will be very anxious about seeing them. I can imagine that after working with patients for a number of years you can become desensitised to the people that need a little comforting and so this could come across as not caring. It is important to find someone that understands your concerns and who will ease your worries.

A Range Of Treatments –
It’s a good idea to ensure that your chosen dentist is able to carry out a large number of treatments that you could possibly need to have done. This includes things like implants, crowns, veneers and dentures. That way if it turns out that you do need to have some of these treatments carried out you can get it all done in the same place and with the dentist you are familiar with.

Emergency Appointments –
Just like with the doctor; you need to be sure that whenever you need them your dentist will be able to see you. There is no point having a great, friendly dentist if you have to book two months in advance every time you want to see them. Pain can strike at any time and so you need to be able to just drop in during an emergency.
Someone Who Knows The Options –
Just like there are different dentists; people have different teeth and different issues surrounding them too and so there needs to be options on the table. If the solution your dentist offers is always just to take the tooth out then they either don’t know their job that well or they enjoy pulling out teeth a bit too much. For every issue there should always be more than one option and it’s important that these are laid out to you.

Flexible Opening Hours –
Depending on the hours during which you work; you will need to find a dentist that suits your needs. Most clinics will open until around 5.30/6 but if this isn’t late enough for you then you should be able to find one that opens later. Don’t forget that there are many that will open early in the morning and on a Saturday so this could be another option.
