Curious about vaping or plan to quit smoking but not sure where to start? Read on to discover everything you need to know about e liquids and e juices.
Beginners Guide to E Liquids or E Juices
Looking to kick-start your masterplan to quit smoking for good? Then you’ll need an alternate to standard cigarettes. So, look no further.
E Juices are liquids that can be inhaled through a vaporiser. With a range of flavours available, along with glycerine and nicotine, it’s a great alternative to smoking traditional fags.
But with talk of nicotine levels and different types of E liquids it can be difficult to know what and how much you should be inhaling if you want to pack in smoking for good. Here’s how to get started with E liquids.
Why swap smoking for vaping?
There are many benefits to ditch tobacco in favour of e liquids. Here are some of the most common reasons that lead to people making the switch:
Fewer chemicals
Cigarettes contain cancer-causing carcinogenic materials like ammonia and tar, however you won’t find these in e liquids, which contain a mere handful of chemicals compared to the thousands that are rife in normal cigarettes.
Passive smoking
With traditional cigarettes, you harm not only yourself, but those around you with second-hand smoke. This happens when chemicals are released from the tobacco, putting everyone else at risk, but especially pensioners and young children.
The vapour from e liquids is not harmful because it doesn’t burn tobacco and so, is safe to smoke around others.
How to start vaping
If you are new to the world of vaping, it can be a mystery to know which flavours and e liquids to choose from.
A good place to start is to buy a range of e-liquids in smaller quantities. This will allow you to hand-pick specific flavours including vanilla, cola and cherry and decide which you like best before splashing out on a long-term supply.
Which e liquid strength to choose
The next step is to consider the nicotine content of the e liquid you want to use. If you don’t smoke normal cigarettes and therefore are not addicted to nicotine, it’s best to select a liquid with no nicotine to avoid dependency.
If you do smoke but want to switch to vaping as a healthier option, choose a nicotine level that matches what you currently ingest.
Smokers who only have a few cigarettes a day may opt for a strength of 12mg but you can choose 24mg for a heavier smoker, or 0mg for non-smokers.
Using a starter kit
You could also consider purchasing a starter kit when you’re looking to make the switch from tobacco cigarettes to vaping.
Often, kits made specifically for new-vapers include the essential equipment that you’ll need to get started. This includes an e-cigarette, a battery pack and a selection of flavours for you to choose from.
Getting started with vaping doesn’t need to be confusing. Whilst e-liquids are a healthier alternative to traditional tobacco, you should bear in mind that you can still become addicted to vaping due to the nicotine-content if the strength is not reduced gradually.
So, if you’re looking for a healthier way to boot the butts, give vaping a go. But do remember, that e liquids and e juices still contain nicotine, even if it is in smaller amounts than traditional cigarettes.
